Wow Legion Best Tanking Class
I'm what I consider a 'casual' WoW player, I do play several nights a week, but only for 30 to 45min each night before bedtime. And a longer session on certain weekend time if I have the free time, but not every weekend. My highest Mythic +'s I am comfortable running are up to a +10 or so, not much higher, and the hardest Raids I run are current Normal.I have three Tanks currently;DK i942;Paladin i912Warrior i904;After running Mythic+'s the past week, I found my Paladin to just tare it up, and easily mow down mobs, and just rock. Highest I ran him last week was a M+9 on my Paladin i912, and he went though it like hot butter.I ran a +11 on my i942 DK, and I found that to be a little rough, not super hard, but no cakewalk either. My Warrior i904 only, I did a +5 and that seemed like my limit, it wasn't easy, I had to really watch my health. What's your opinion? If you just run LFR a few times everyone will be above 930 though. I can only imagine my Paladin if he was i942, it wouldn't be funny. At i912 and my one leggo I feel so confident, lots of health regeneration, and I hit mobs easily with Aveners Shield, and Concentration, and the hammer whirling around.I need to gear him up more, see how it goes? Fastest way to go from i912 to like 935/940?Fastest way is doing a bunch of M+ but hard to do on limited time. Try to get some tier pieces from Raid Finder and that should help a bit if you don't already have the set bonuses.
I am absolutely DYING to say Druid, but that’s personal bias, as I LOVE my druid and the all around specialization that I can get, filling any position I want reasonably well, but I’ve done PvP. I get my tail handed to me. So, it depends on what y.
Greater Invasions on Argus are good. Relinquished Tokens. Pug some Normal raids and work on the Argus trinket.

Blood DK is hands down the best for casual play. Simply because if you do not have a reliable healer, it is best at sustaining itself. After a certain gear level, Demon Hunter also becomes semi-immortal. It takes damage in larger spikes, but has much better mobility (important for certain affixes) and can self heal just as well. It is no wonder why solo pros chose DH tanks for soloing mythics 15-20, as well as previous tier raids like Nighthold and ToS. The rest, while being perfectly viable, still rely on outside healing to do content.

So I played a bit this weekend, and got my Paladin another 10 iLvls higher, and I have to say the Paladin Tank is pretty tough. He's only i922, but is an alt, have to say I like him more and more the higher iLvl I get. Seems like a very good Legion tank class.Still loving my DK Tank, but didn't play him much, he's at i943, and feels very solid, great self healing on these Death Knight Tanks. I'll play hime more this week.Didn't touch my Warrior except to run some MoH WQs, and at i906 he just doesn't give me the confidence like my Paladin or Death Knight, both having great self healing, but the Warrior tank doesn't seem to have those extra health spells like them.
So I think he will stay back, and I will mainly play the Tankadin and Death Tank. Update, got a leggo for my Paladin Tank, and waiting to unlock the second slot for another leggo, I have the Raid Ant ring waiting for me. But at i926 I feel super confident with this Paladin, I just Tanked Normal Ant last night with ease, and zero issues. Now my Blood DK, got him to i952 and for first time tried Heroic Ant raid, I can self heal like a mofo, but just not as comfortable with the DK as I am with the Paladin. For some reason the Paladin gives me more confidence.
Of course the DK being 25+ iLvl higher makes a huge difference, but I'm talking more feel of play, the overall rotation or priority of Tanking a Raid, my Paladin feels smoother of this makes sense?I may switch my DK to pure Frost DPS, I do have Cold Heart and Bracers leggos for him.Or keep both as Tanks and see how far I progress?Opinion? My beef with Blood DK, is similar to Frost DK, a boring rotation. My main rotation goes like; DnD, then Blood Boil, then Morrowrend to 7 or so, then what I call the typical rotation of a combo of 1 XBlood Boil + 2 or 3 X Heart Strikes, + 1 X Death Strike, and rinse repeat that mostly of 1 BB + 2 HS + 1 DS + DnD when it procs + keeping Morrow up. I use Vampire when needed. But I seem to run into cool down issues, where Heart Strike will be on CD, and no DS's available, and the rotation or whatever we call it today, seems to get muddy and slow sometimes. I just wish it was a fast easy smooth of Blood Boil + 2 or 3 Heart Strikes + 1 Death Strike, rinse and repeat and never miss a beat, no cool dowsn ever, I find the cool downs to be so annoying and frustrating.

Bumping an old thread. I play a lot of different alts, but for these three Tanks of mine, I'd rank them like this;- Protection Paladin #1: I have the Legs + Helm legendary's and I feel very comfortable never worrying about health too much, due to the Helm I have 2 self heals ready to go anytime in an instant if need be. And with the Avengers Shield and Hammer, and Concentration, AOE fights just feels so amazing, never once worried about losing a big mob, I can keep a big mob on me without even thinking about it. And I just love starting a fight from far away with either throwing Judgement hammer or Avengers to get it going.- Blood Death Knight #2: Yes this guy is a beast, and has some amazing self heals, without any special legendary's needed for healing a lot better. But I don't like it compared to my Prot Tank, because I love starting fights far away with Avengers and having it ricochet to like 4 or 5 other enemies, that's just a great way to get it started, whereas with the DK I don't feel like this class has a comparable spell like that. So yeah I like the Blood DK, but would take a Prot Paladin, just for the ease and flow of the rotation, and AOE just feels more confident on the Paladin.- Protection Warrior #3: Could never get into this class, just always felt clunky, and I didn't like the self heals, it felt weak, and overall just not comfortable playing a Warrior Tank.
But then again, he was low iLvl only i930 so maybe that's why? But like the Blood DK way more, and the Paladin a hundred times more.
